Organization: New York Bisons Basketball Club

Duration: March 23, 2026 – August 1, 2026

Hours: 6–10 Hours Per Week (may increase during tournaments)

Compensation: Unpaid (College Credit Eligible)

Are you passionate about sports, storytelling, and digital content? The New York Bisons Basketball Club is looking for a driven and creative Social Media Intern to help elevate our brand and showcase the energy of our program.

At NY Bisons, we are committed to empowering youth through competitive basketball while fostering personal growth, discipline, and excellence on and off the court.

📍 Location: Interns must be able to commute to Bergen County, NJ for practices and staff meetings. Select events may require travel for away tournaments.

🕒 Time Commitment: Part-time with a flexible schedule based on practice coverage and tournament weekends.

🎓 College Credit: This internship qualifies for college credit. Students are responsible for securing approval from their college or university and submitting required documentation.

🎽 Staff Gear: Interns will receive official New York Bisons staff apparel to wear during games and events.

📜 Letter of Recommendation: Upon successful completion of the program, interns will receive a personalized letter of recommendation.

Position Overview (Social Media Intern)

The Social Media Intern will support content creation, digital engagement, and brand growth across platforms including Instagram, X, and TikTok. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in sports marketing and digital media.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule engaging content across social platforms

• Design graphics and short-form videos

• Capture live content at practices, games, and tournaments

• Monitor engagement metrics and assist with performance tracking

• Research trends and contribute creative content ideas

Position Overview (Sports Photographer / Videography Intern)

The Sports Photographer / Videography Intern will capture high-quality action photography during games, practices, and tournaments while filming game footage for internal highlight production. The intern will professionally edit and deliver all photos. Video editing is not required; all raw footage will be transferred to the club’s designated editor.

This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in live sports media production.

Key Responsibilities

• Capture high-quality action photography during games, practices, and tournaments

• Film full games and key moments for highlight production (no editing required)

• Professionally edit and process photos (color correction, cropping, light retouching)

• Upload and organize raw video footage for the club’s editor

• Maintain organized file naming and structured digital storage

• Deliver edited photos within agreed-upon timelines

• Represent the organization professionally when interacting with players, coaches, and parents

Learning Objectives

• Develop advanced skills in live-action sports photography

• Strengthen professional photo editing workflow (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.)

• Learn proper video capture techniques for highlight production

• Understand media workflow coordination between shooter and editor

• Build a polished sports photography portfolio

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a photography, media, or related program

• Experience using DSLR or mirrorless cameras

• Proficiency in photo editing software (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.)

• Basic understanding of video framing and steady shooting techniques

• Ability to work evenings and weekends

• Strong communication and professionalism

• Passion for sports and youth development preferred
